DESCRIPTION:
This exquisite bed was purchased in Europe and features superbly carved posts, foot rail and headboard with scrolls surrounding a center crown. The piece has a soft red polychrome finish with foliate and gilt accents. The original bed dates from the early 19th century and was modified at one time to take more modern bedding of an extra long queen size. The piece has some wear to the finish, as would be expected, but is otherwise in good condition. The inside dimensions are 63" x 87".
